Post-Rediculous-Kaiba-Corps-Promotional-Photoshoot-Bullshit, Rosalyn helped herself to the rest of the compound. Part of the gift-basket from the KC Staff after the shoot was a 1 Day Tour Pass, but, not in the mood for hearingmoreabout Seto Kaiba and his journey to piles of money and fame, Rosalyn…
Sophia glared at the financial spreadsheet on the screen in front of her. Last time she checked, she was the secretary, not the financial assistant. But Kaiba had wanted this done post haste and since Sophia was the only one working this weekend, she was the one who got stuck with the damn nightmare. Seriously? HOW MUCH did the man have to spend on this stupid card game? Growling in frustration, she faintly heard the ‘ding’ of the elevator. Oh, if that was Kaiba…he was going to get an earful…
Rosalyn click-clacked down the hall in her bright yellow heels, taking in the blandness of Kaiba’s lair thusfar. Pretentiously modern, yes, but she’d expected to be taken out by lasers or something cool long ago. She rounded a corner and paused when she saw the angry woman behind the desk. “Oh, hello there.” She smiled tentatively. The woman looked ready to kill someone.
Sophia blinked when the person was NOT Kaiba, but instead some young woman who looked like she had walked out of a magazine (literally). Maybe she was Kaiba’s latest conquest…Sophia hoped Ren wouldn’t find out, for the girl’s sake. Ren would probably claw her pretty eyes out.
Regaining her composure, Sophia looked boredly at Rosalyn and asked. “May I help you ma’am?”
“No, I’m just looking around.” Her voice was faintly British, as if she’d lived there, but long ago. “This is the KaibaCave, I assume?” Rosalyn gestured to the extravagant doors past the secretary’s desk. She rolled her eyes. “Seems his style.”
Rosalyn approached the desk, leaning on the tabletop. “You must be Seto’s secretary.” She beamed, holding out a hand. “I’m Rosalyn.”
Sophia briefly glanced at Rosalyn’s hand before returning the gesture. “Sophia. Temporary secretary. Or at least until I can save up enough money for another expedition. So what brings you to the gates of hell?” She quirked an eyebrow at the model, still not fully trusting anyone who wanders up to Kaiba’s office while he wasn’t in. If this girl was a thief, Kaiba would have both of their heads. And Sophia liked having a job that paid well.
She shrugged her porcelain shoulders. “I was down at the ‘shoot and got this nifty tour pass, so I could hear more about Mr. Kaiba and his accomplishments,” She paused to fake gag, “I thought exploring would be more fun. What sort of expeditions do you go on, Sophia?”
“Contrary to my job description, I am an archaeologist and anthropologist.” She replied while straightening her glasses. ”I’ve been all over the world to different sites and museums, but yet they still don’t pay me enough.” She grimaced. “I assume you are one of the models from the earlier shoot?” She did a once over on the girl, she certainly did look the part.
“Yes. That’s her.” She snickered. ”And why am I not surprised that she has already made such an impression on the poor,...
Rosalyn turned on the ball of her foot back to the desk. “Medium, red-brown hair, likes it when Kaiba suffers?”
